Hair upstyles, nail technician & make up artist training

just wondering if anyone can help me to find part time, distance or night courses in the above areas. when i refer to make up artist training, i mean that i want to learn how to put make up on someone else properly, colours that suit and how to achieve different effects.

on the subject of hair i mainly want to learn about styling, not necessarily about cutting and colouring.

i am based outside cashel, co. tipperary, but would be willing to travel for the right course as far as limerick city or kilkenny city.

any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kedrek1. There are three evening courses related to the beauty area in the LImerick region. Limerick Senior College has a few different courses and if you go to www.limericksc.ie and click on Evening Courses, you will see the Art, Beauty list of courses. Check them out. One of them would give you a CIBTAC Diploma. The Central College in Limerick has an 8 week evening course in Beauty, Make up and Skin Care. See www.centralcollegelimerick.com/adulteducation.html. It was on Thursday evenings during the last term but you will have to check with the individual colleges about their autumn enrolment and starting dates for the autumn. Desmond College in Newcastlewest had another evening class (about 8 weeks approx) in Beauty and Make up also during the 2007/08 session so check with them also at www.desmondcollege.ie. Some of those courses may have the nails included but you would have to check. Finding a course in hair styling will not be easy. It would usually be part of training to be a hair-dresser which is usually done as a trainee or sometimes there are PLC (Post-Leaving Cert) courses available but they are full-time. Limerick Senior College and the Central College in Limerick both have evening courses in "Hair-up Styles" which may be what you are looking for. They last only for 8 or 10 weeks. You could also check out the Kilkenny College of Beauty Therapy at www.kilkennycbt.com to see if they have anything suitable. Hope you will find something in that lot. Miriam
